The Complete Creative Director is genuinely one of the best advertising books I’ve read and I’ve read my fair share. It’s succinct, incredibly well considered and teaming with great advice. So, if you’re like me and looking for that step up into the higher echelons of creative leadership, but can’t afford the upskilling rates, this is as good as taking any course. It is indeed a masterclass! This isn’t just a book to tick off the list, this is a guide that I will tuck under my arm, look back at and thumb through for time to come. Highly recommend!

I wished I’d read this before becoming a CD. Mick has collated everything you need to thrive as a CD. Every page is an mini-masterclass. The quotes from agency leaders equally so. Essential reading for anyone aspiring to be one or currently one. I think most of the learnings would benefit Executive Creative Directors and Chief Creative Officers too. If you’re not in advertising there’s also plenty here that’s relevant to any leadership role.
